Back in the twentieth century it was common that people created identities for themselves. They did not grow into someone else or changed slowly. They just thought: 'Hmm, I'd really like to be an artist'. And they'd start dressing like an artist, talking like an artist, thinking like an artist and living like an artist. They would even go out and find new friends to match this new personality.

“I really like them and they remind me of a great time. They look nice and keep me warm“, is what Florian, 23, says about the sweatshirts he kept after his last break-up. One of them was a present from his ex and the other one was actually only borrowed. “But most of the other things I don't even notice anymore”. He still has pictures, showing the both of them, on his wall and uses the coffee mug, another birthday present, every day. He seems to only have good memories of the relationship. That may be because they broke up on the telephone. Or because they lived 400 kilometers apart. Or because nobody dumped the other.

...that I'm not dating girls?

No one’s found the answer yet. I mean, not for me especially, but for anyone. I believe there are millions of people out there that don't fit the sexual orientation norm, but nobody knows why. Not that this would change anything for them or me, because we won't just discover a drug changing us all back to “normal.”

They say this is what you should do if you just can‘t sleep. I‘ve tried nearly a thousand times, but it didn‘t change anything. I’d lie awake for hours until I’d finally fall asleep. I lived with this problem for about a year and I tried all the things my friends advised me to do. In the beginning I suddenly couldn‘t bear my clock ticking anymore.
