Ucon was founded in 2001 by a group of skaters. The aim was to design modern, creative and ready-to-wear pieces of clothing. Nine years on, the German company is now big in the US and has established itself as a high-quality skate brand, combining style with functionality. Matchless caught up with founder and designer Jochen Smuda at the UCON SS10 party in Flashbox, to ask him how Ucon is progressing.

Patricia Lipperheide is a hat maker or more specifically, a maker of tocados - equisite, handmade, feathered headpieces. After creating her own hat at a friend's wedding, interest rapidly grew. Now with over one hundred clients on her books, business is booming. Could this be the future hat maker of the fashion world?
