Images of beautiful sunshine and endless beaches pop up when you think about Spain. But in Santiago de Compostela, impressive capital of Galicia and final destination of the famous pilgrimage way, the predominant components of everyday life are: corrosive wind and notorious rain. 

Visual artist Hana Vojáčková talks to us about her newest exhibition, Red Balloon 86; a series of evocative photographs reflecting the Chernobyl tragedy. The city of Pripyat was evacuated after the Chernobyl accident in April 1986 and since the disaster almost a quarter of a century ago, very few people have been permitted to enter the exclusion zone. Hana Vojáčková gained access to the desolate city and has produced very poignant images of a once bustling Communist city, now a deserted ghost town.
